    Technical Support Specialist

    Milton, PA

    This is a full time position within the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit's (CSIU) technology department providing technical client support related to supported software applications and be responsible for the upkeep of CSIU equipment and related services.

    Salary Range: $48,000 – 54, 000 dependent on education, applicable experience and skills. This is an exempt position following a 260 days per year, 12-month work schedule.  This opportunity includes excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.

    This full-time position follows a regular Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week) work schedule with the opportunity to telework from home and/or approved off-site locations following a hybrid schedule as approved by immediate supervisor.  In addition, face-to-face interaction with clients, meetings, trainings and on-site requirements for assigned projects at the CSIU Main office, located in Milton, PA, are required.  Certain requirements, based upon CSIU telework policy and administrative regulations, must be met.  The CSIU has the right to cancel or suspend the employee teleworking privileges at any time, for any or no reason due to the requirement of the CSIU and client needs

    Education, skills and experience required include:

    ·        An Associate's degree in computer science, computer applications, computer programming, information technology or related field of study and minimum two (2) years' related work experience in desktop/web applications, servers and/or networking support required.  A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

    ·        Experience in TCP networks, operating systems, database administration and related hardware preferred.

    ·        Extensive application support experience and associated application software required with intermediate working knowledge of computer/server hardware.

    ·        Experience with desktop operating systems using / troubleshooting microcomputers and experience with working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities and knowledge of VMware and/or Hyper-V.

    ·        Ability to provide training to non-technical staff on one-to-one basis or small groups. 

    ·        Ability to learn new skills and to deal with constant change.

    ·        Experience working independently and also unsupervised in a responsible manner.

    ·        Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills to manage and prioritize multiple project skills essential. 

    ·        Acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.

    ·        Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and strong documentation skills.

    ·        Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain composure and positive working relationships with staff members and clients, as communicating customer needs depends on this.  Requires a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills.

    ·        Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff members.
