Quaker Valley School District is searching for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our K-12 School District team as the Director of Finance and Operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy: Leads the development and maintenance of the annual budget and long-range financial projections, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
• Strategic Planning: Contributes to district-wide planning and analysis of current programs, support systems, and expenditures as a key member of the Superintendent's Cabinet.
• Operational Oversight: Directly oversees the food services and transportation departments, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Financial Planning and Modeling for Capital Projects: Brings valuable School District building construction project as well as capital planning experience, contributing insights to ongoing and future projects.
• Financial Reporting and School Auditing:  Directly oversees the financial reporting and school auditing processes for the District.

Essential Duties:

• Supervises Accounts Payable/Procurement, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Manages budget development, administration and long-range financial planning for the District.
• Prepares and oversees the preparation of District financial reports. Ensures that report formats meet all state, local and in-district reporting requirements.
• Assists the Superintendent and staff to analyze financial and educational problems and develop solutions to problems which ultimately improve daily operations.
• Coordinates internal and external audit functions while managing District compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines or laws.
• Monitors tax collection processes and reporting and ensures the timely transfer of funds from tax collectors to the District.
• Monitors tax appeals and assessment changes.
• Participates with regional and state organizations in staying abreast of school finance reform and other district-related issues.
• Provides presentations to the Board and community regarding the financial status of the District.
• Serves as administrative liaison to the Board Finance Committee.

Qualifications:

•  Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field. Advanced degree and relevant certifications are advantageous.
• Proven experience in financial leadership within a K-12 or related educational setting.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to contribute to district-wide planning.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of School District building construction processes and practices in Pennsylvania is highly desirable.
